Robert Suryan began as an audio enthusiast over 30 years ago, learning loudspeaker design and acoustics, then started an involvement in computers and networking in 1993. Later in 2004 he began a professional career as an ISF video calibrator, then in 2005 an HAA acoustic calibrator, and in 2006 joined CEDIA and now has a EST II certification (Electronics Systems Technician Level II) . In the ever changing world of residential electronics, continuing education will always be an element of his career.
John Hubbard became interested in Smart Homes after a family member suffered $60,000 in water damage to their home while on vacation because a $1 valve failed. This led him to ask: "Why are houses so stupid?" John has over 15 years of experience as a software developer with Fortune 500 and startup companies creating solutions for networked systems. He has a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from Seattle University. He is a certified Washington state Limited Energy Electrical Administrator.
